Franklin’s online accredited MBA with a Specialization in Finance provides hands-on experience with portfolio management, Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM), financial derivatives, financial models and foreign exchange theory and models. MBA-Finance Specialization Program Overview
Acquire the analytical skills needed to develop effective executive-level financial solutions
Capable financial advisors provide insight to fuel financial decisions that have a far-reaching and long-term impact on their organizations. You’ll get hands-on experience analyzing, summarizing and presenting your recommendations, through a six-week simulation. Through this equity analyst project, you’ll learn to apply time-value-of-money skills to value stocks and bonds; estimate cash flows and discount rates that inform budgeting decisions; examine the contributing factors for external financing, as well as optimum debt-equity ratios; and analyze investment opportunities in terms of risk and reward.
Master advanced concepts and strengthen your ability to make informed investment decisions
Using computer simulations and widely accessible online tools, like Yahoo and Google finance, TD Ameritrade and Mergent Online, you’ll build your knowledge of capital markets, financial institutions and financial products, as well as your skills with the analytical tools needed for investment portfolio management. By adopting a professional investor’s perspective, you’ll get a framework for financial analysis in business settings and be able to explain financial decisions in highly dynamic investment environments.
Gain an understanding of global finance and its impact on business operations
Today’s global economy means that even mid-size companies need fundamental knowledge of international financial systems. You’ll build your understanding of these systems and be able to describe various international financial markets and instruments, evaluate types of market exposures and hedging strategies, and analyze the operations of global capital markets and their implications for domestic trade-oriented businesses concerning production, investment and employment.
Learn from in-field experts in instructor-led online sessions
If you’re looking for the flexibility of online learning alongside personalized attention from faculty, you’ll find it at Franklin. Online synchronous meetings provide the opportunity to ask questions, dig into assignments, work through problems, and discuss course topics with the instructor as a class. While the interactive sessions are regularly scheduled in advance, they are optional and are recorded for students to access at a later time if they choose to. In addition to accessible faculty, who are in-field practitioners, some courses include industry experts as guest speakers.
